The UCLA César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies, together with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer Studies Program, both in the College of Letters and Science at University of California, Los Angeles, invite applications for a two-year appointment as Assistant Professor In Residence. The department is seeking candidates who specialize in Chicana Art as well as LGBTQ Art, with the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate interdisciplinary courses in both of these fields. A successful candidate will also be required to conduct research and provide student mentorship.

The UCLA Chicana and Chicano Studies department reflects not just the growth of UCLA’s Chicano/Latino student body, but also more seismic demographic changes, in Los Angeles, California, and the nation. The department of Chicana and Chicano Studies and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer Studies Program strives to fortify the connection between UCLA and its surrounding urban context and the chosen candidate will assist in these efforts with their ability to integrate their overlapping commitments to academic success, teaching excellence, and equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent expertise in their field of specialization and have at least one year’s teaching experience at the college level.
