Film Submissions Open – Wild & Scenic Film Festival
Submissions are now open for the 18th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival which runs from January 16-20, 2020 in Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA. As a festival by activists for activists, we are seeking films that inspire, motivate, activate, and educate. We screen environmental and adventure films from all over the world and invite you to distribute this information about our call for entries to filmmakers and production companies with which you may have worked along with anyone else in your rolodex who may be interested! Submissions are open May 15-September 24.
At SYRCL’s (South Yuba River Citizens League) Wild & Scenic Film Festival, we show environmental and adventure films that illustrate the earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action.
Submission guidelines, rules, and deadlines, as well as a direct link to the submission site is located on our website. Filmmakers of all abilities and backgrounds are invited to submit their films. Find out more here: https://www.wildandscenicfilmfestival.org/films-1/submit-a-film/
While all films will be considered, we are especially interested in films that interpret our theme this year: (re)generation. (Re)generation celebrates the power of renewal, both in our personal hopes for positive change in the world and in our collective actions for a healthier planet. (Re)generation references the work this commitment requires—at human and landscape scales.
Wild & Scenic accepts all films with an environmental theme including documentaries, animation, shorts, features, and narratives. We look for environmental films that are entertaining, educational, and above all inspirational. We want our audiences to be inspired to make a difference in their communities and world.
Wild & Scenic screens entertaining and inspiring adventure films from all over the world. Topics include climbing, mountaineering, surfing, and more. A special preference is given to adventure films with an environmental focus.
