More Information:

At SYRCL’s (South Yuba River Citizens League) Wild & Scenic Film Festival, we show environmental and adventure films that illustrate the earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action.

Submission guidelines, rules, and deadlines, as well as a direct link to the submission site is located on our website. Filmmakers of all abilities and backgrounds are invited to submit their films. Find out more here: https://www.wildandscenicfilmfestival.org/films-1/submit-a-film/

While all films will be considered, we are especially interested in films that interpret our theme this year: (re)generation. (Re)generation celebrates the power of renewal, both in our personal hopes for positive change in the world and in our collective actions for a healthier planet. (Re)generation references the work this commitment requires—at human and landscape scales.

Environmental Films

Wild & Scenic accepts all films with an environmental theme including documentaries, animation, shorts, features, and narratives. We look for environmental films that are entertaining, educational, and above all inspirational. We want our audiences to be inspired to make a difference in their communities and world.

Adventure Films

Wild & Scenic screens entertaining and inspiring adventure films from all over the world. Topics include climbing, mountaineering, surfing, and more. A special preference is given to adventure films with an environmental focus.

Film Competition – Student Level

Are you a student filmmaker? We encourage you to submit your student environmental and adventure films. We accept documentaries, animation, kids’ films, shorts, and even music videos. Your films should be informative, engaging, and inspiring. Create an environmental or adventure film to be considered for screening at the largest film fest of its kind in the United States!

If your film is invited to be a part of the WSFF 2020 Official Selection, you will be treated like the VIP that you are! You will receive a variety of perks including complimentary passes, lodging, invites to parties and special events, networking opportunities, awards, and more.
