To support time and materials researching biodiverse studies on modern day settlers and Colonial settlements in correlation to the Indigenous territories they inhabit, and their regional ethnobotany. These paintings will be paired with a publication describing each work extensively. The project begins in Southern California. The paintings begin with studies of the Tongva and Luiseno biome, combined with modern day Colonial settlements, and how they continue to utilize or abuse/neglect the nature of the region and its resources. The paintings will both be on paper with Gouache, and on Silk with Natural Dye paints I create.
