Under direction of the Supervisor – Photography, responsible for capturing and editing compelling photography in support of ALSAC’s fundraising and awareness needs. Presents a positive image of St. Jude events, patients, families and employees to the public. Serves as a lead photographer, shooting and editing ALSAC imagery in support of fundraising and awareness initiatives. Assists in developing and implementing immediate and long-term technology strategies that provide cost-efficient and effective photographic services to Creative Services in support of ALSAC’s overarching strategic plan. Builds photographic resources to meet the creative needs of ALSAC.
Knowledge – Proven ability to develop compelling and effective photography that meets assigned objectives while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Expert-level skill in the fundamentals of photography, lighting, retouching and related technology.
Hands on shooting, retouching and editing required.
Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations; thorough knowledge of English spelling, grammar and usage; ability to understand complex verbal or written instructions; excellent photography skills including capturing, editing and retouching.
Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft Office applications and others as assigned.
Skilled in presentation software including Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote. Competent in the use of the Mac operating system.
Communicates professionally, clearly and effectively both in writing and in person.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills; able to manage conflict in a calm and professional manner. Highly organized; able to perform job in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
Maintains a sense of urgency and accountability in response to assignments.
Maintains current knowledge of industry best practices and trends.
Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in Photography or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to work extended, irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Bilingual skills a plus.
